MANILA — Ipinahayag ng Department of the Interior and Local Government na may kabuuang 617,806 qualified tricycle drivers sa buong bansa ang nakatakdang tumanggap ng kanilang fuel cash subsidy sa ilalim ng “Pantawid Pasada Program for Tricycle Drivers” upang maibsan ang tumataas na presyo ng gasolina sa gitna ng pandemya.

Sinabi ni DILG Secretary Eduardo Año na ibibigay ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board ang fuel subsidy sa pamamagitan ng e-wallet account ng mga benepisyaryo, sangay ng Landbank of the Philippines, o off-site payout ng mga local government unit.

We hope that through this fuel subsidy, the suffering of tricycle drivers caused by the continuous increase in crude oil prices and slowdown in travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be alleviated. This is the government’s way of showing its concern for our tricycle drivers,” wika ni Año.

There was validation and verification to ensure that the recipients of the fuel subsidy are the legitimate ones who are franchised and not colorum, have a license, and have submitted the requirements by the deadline given by the government,” aniya.
