MANILA — Nakahanda na ang mga hakbang sa seguridad para sa inagurasyon ni president-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sinabi kahapon ni Interior Secretary Eduardo Año habang nagbabala siya sa posibleng hakbang ng mga rebeldeng komunista para ipahiya ang bagong chief executive.
Sinabi ni Año na maaaring pinaplano ng Communist Party of the Philippines na ipahiya si Marcos sa kanyang panunungkulan ngunit sinabi nitong nakahanda ang National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) para dito.
“We are not privy to the specific intelligence report but we can surmise that CPP-NPA (New People’s Army) and its cohorts actually have the intent to cause embarrassment to president-elect Bongbong Marcos because it’s what leftist groups had been doing to presidents right from the start,” aniya sa Ingles at Filipino sa isang press briefing.
“So it’s probably the motive of some groups – to ruin the image of the incoming administration,” aniya.
Binigyang-diin ni Año na ang gobyerno, Philippine National Police at NTF-ELCAC ay “handa para dito.”
“We will not allow any group to conduct any nefarious activities much more to discredit the incoming administration and we will do it all within the legal bound of the law,” dagdag niya.
Ang katiyakan ng seguridad ni Año ay dumating matapos sabihin ni dating senador Juan Ponce Enrile na may sabwatan ang mga grupo mula sa Estados Unidos at Pilipinas para siraan ang papasok na administrasyon.
Sinabi ng pinuno ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na bineberipika pa nila ang pag-aangkin ni Enrile.
“The intelligence community is into it and not only yung mga plan to embarrass but also you know this is a big event, this inauguration. There will be large gathering of officials – both the outgoing president and the incoming president. So we need big preparation,” dagdag niya.
Nilinaw ng PNP, sa pamamagitan ng tagapagsalita na si Col. Jean Fajardo, na hindi papayagan ang mga protestang rally malapit sa mga lugar para sa inagurasyon nina Marcos at vice president-elect Sara Duterte sa Manila at Davao City.
“Definitely, rallies won’t be allowed both in Davao City and at the National Museum,” wika ni Fajardo sa isang panayam sa dzBB kahapon.
Sinabi ni Fajardo na ang mga kritiko ng papasok na administrasyon ay malayang magsagawa ng mga demonstrasyon sa mga itinalagang freedom park. Ang pinakamalapit na freedom park sa National Museum ay ang Liwasang Bonifacio.
