Inihayag ni National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon sa Korte Suprema ang taong kanyang tinatawag na “master red-tagger.”

Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, nagsalita sa Korte Suprema si Esperon sa ika-8 na araw ng oral arguments hinggil sa mga inihaing petisyon para ibasura ang Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020. Tinanggihan nito ang mga alegasyon na nangre-red tag ang pamahalaan sa mga organisasyon.

Bilang katibayan, ibinahagi ni Esperon ang isang 2-minute video ni Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Maria Sison kung saan binabanggit nito ang mga pangalan ng 18 na organisasyong tinatawag niyang “allied organizations.”

Ipinakita rin nito ang isang 1987 video ni Sison na umano’y pinapangalanan ang mga organisasyong kasapi sa National Democratic Revolution.

“The master red-tagger is no other than Jose Maria Sison. We are merely informing the public, this is of course what we called truth tagging for purposes of public information so that we will not be misled by this movement or triad of the Communist Party of the Philippines, the New Peoples Army, and the National Democratic Front,” paliwanag ni Esperon.

Sinabi rin ng opisyal na magpa-publish sila sa Huwebes ng designasyon ng mga indibidwal na may kaugnayan sa komunismo.

Subalit, nang tanungin sa mga pangalan sa nasabing ATC resolution, sinabi nitong: “Your Honor, I don’t want to preempt the Anti-Terrorism Council because I have yet to see the publication today for tomorrow of persons connected with the CPP-NPA. There is a resolution of the Anti-Terrorism Council but until we have published these in local papers, we will not name them publicly.”
