Kamara, nakatakdang ipasa sa Peb. 22 ang Covid-19 vaccine indemnification bill

Nakatakdang aprubahan ng Kamara sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa sa Lunes ang isang panukalang batas na layong magtatag ng vaccine indemnity fund at magpabilis sa procurement ng Covid-19 vaccines.

Inanunsyo nito ni House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco noong Biyernes matapos sertipikahang urgent ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang House Bill No. 8648 at Senate Bill No. 2057.

“As soon as we were apprised that the indemnification fund is a requirement of the vaccine manufacturers, we wasted no time in filing House Bill 8648, which would allow emergency procurement of vaccines and provide the required indemnification fund,” ani Velasco.

Dagdag pa nito, “With President Rodrigo Roa Duterte certifying the measure as urgent, the House is expected to approve HB 8648 on second and third reading by Monday.”

Kasalukuyang sasalang sa second reading ang bill matapos itong aprubahan ng House Committee on Appropriations at ini-sponsor sa plenaryo.

Bukod sa indemnification bill, sinabi rin ni Velasco na nakahanda rin ang Kamara na ipasa ang ipinapanukalang Bayanihan to Arise As One Act o Bayanihan 3, na layong maglaan ng P420 bilyong pondo para sa Covid-19 response.

Kabilang din dito ang P25 bilyong badyet para sa Covid-19 treatment at vaccines.
