MANILA – Nanawagan si Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte ng kolektibong aksiyon upang masolusyunan ang masaklap na katotohanan hinggil sa mababang grado ng mga estudyanteng Pilipino sa mga international assessment.
Sinabi ito ng bise presidente matapos lumabas ang resulta ng Programme for International Student Assessment (PI-SA) 2022 kung saan ang mga estudyanteng Pinoy edad 15 ay hirap sa math, reading at science kumpara sa mga es-tudyante ng ibang bansa.
“[T]his is a call to action, a call to our collective responsibility as a nation,” saad ni Duterte sa isang statement.
“We need every stakeholder to join us in this journey moving forward. We may approach the solution differently, but we all agree on the destination. Everyone’s efforts are counted and everyone is accountable for our children’s future,” dag-dag pa niya.
Matatandang sinimulan na ng DepEd ang pagpapatupad ng mga hakbang para masolusyunan ang kakulangan ng kaalaman ng mga estudyante sa pamamagitan ng “Matatag Curriculum”, na sumusog sa K to 10 program upang mahasa ang mga estudyante sa pagbabasa at pagsusulat gayundin sa math at ang Catch-up Fridays simula sa Enero.
“I call on everyone to pull our efforts together for a more resilient MATATAG education system, an education system that aims to improve learning outcomes, prioritize student and teacher well-being, and promote accountability to close remaining disparities,” giit ng bise presidente.
