MANILA – Mahigit 3.6 milyong Pilipino ang mayroong mental, neurological at substance use disorder, ayon sa datos ng Department of Health (DOH).

Kaya itinulak ni AnaKalusugan party-list Rep. Ray Reyes ang panukalang Mental Health Center Establishment Act (House Bill 3582) upang makapagtayo ng mental health center sa bawat rehiyon.

“Mental health and wellbeing should be a priority of our government and there is no denying that there is a need for more men-tal health centers in the regions,” sabi ni Reyes.

“While more and more people are suffering from mental health issues, access to mental health services in the country remains limited due to stigma and lack of resources,” dagdag pa ng kongresista.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang DOH ay aatasan na magtayo ng center na magbibigay ng mental health services sa mga rehiyon.
