MANILA – Hinimok ni House Majority Leader at Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe si dating Pangulong Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte na huwag idamay ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa usapin ng politika dahil maaaring makuwestiyon lamang ang propesyunalismo at pagiging patas ng mga ito.

“I respectfully appeal to former President Rodrigo Duterte to recognize the paramount importance of keeping our Armed Forces and National Police free from partisan politics. These institutions serve as the bedrock of our nation’s security, and their effective-ness relies on unity and impartiality,” giit ni Dalipe.

Sinabi ni Dalipe na ang pahayag ni Duterte na nag-uugnay sa AFP at PNP sa pamumulitika ay hindi makatuwiran para sa mga opisyal at enlisted personnel na nagsumikap na maibalik ang kredibilidad at mataas na lebel ng propesyunalismo sa kanilang ha-nay.

“We have already achieved so much in our quest to professionalize our military and police service. Let us not squander what we have accomplished by putting the AFP and the PNP in a bad light because of these baseless statements,” dagdag pa nito.

Ayon kay Dalipe, ang military adventurism ay lumipas na, at ang AFP at PNP ay nakatuon ngayon sa pagganap ng kanilang mandato sa ilalim ng Konstitusyon para pangalagaan ang demokrasya at soberan-ya ng bansa.
