MANILA – Inihayag ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) nitong Huwebes na sa pagtanggal ng 27-taong guarantee bond na nag-aatas sa mga Singaporean employer na kumuha ng mga Filipino migrant worker, mayroon nang 10,000 job order na naghihintay para sa mga overseas Filipino workers ( OFW) sa Singapore.
Sinabi ni DMW Secretary Susan Ople na ang goodwill na nagmumula sa pagbisita ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. ay humantong sa mas marami at mas magandang prospect ng trabaho para sa mga manggagawang Pilipino.
Nauna nang inanunsyo ng DMW at Ministry of Manpower (MOM) ng Singapore ang pagkansela ng banker’s guarantee at performance bond na S$7,000 sa mga employer sa Singapore kapag kumukuha ng mga manggagawang Pilipino. Ito ay katumbas ng 284,140.79 kapag na-convert sa umiiral na pera na P40.58.
“Even prior to the President’s visit, our Labor office in Singapore had already approved close to 10,000 job orders with 5,000 jobs awaiting aircraft technicians in the aviation industry,” ani Ople sa sideline ng state visit ni Marcos sa Singapore.
Sinabi ni Ople na ang mga bagong inaprubahang job order ay isinangguni para sa agarang dokumentasyon sa Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) sa Singapore, na inaasahang lalagdaan sa pormalidad sa susunod na mga buwan.
Ang mga aprubadong job order na isinumite ng mga employer sa Singapore sa POLO ay ang mga sumusunod:
Aviation industry – 5,000 aircraft technicians
Medical industry – 3,000 healthcare workers
Engineering industry – 1,000 skilled workers
Education industry – 500 workers
I.T. sector – 300 workers
Inaasahan ni Ople ang malaking pagtaas ng demand para sa mga OFW sa tagumpay ng state visit ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa Singapore.
“Compared to other countries that also deploy migrant workers, our processing time takes months instead of weeks but with digitalization and given the remarkable talent and dedication of our workers, we expect a surge in demand for OFWs not only in Singapore but also in other parts of the world,” wika ni Ople.
