MANILA – Inihayag ng Department of Health (DOH) nitong Huwebes na ang National Capital Region (NCR) ay nasa ilalim pa rin ng low-risk classification para sa Covid-19 nitong Hunyo 16.
Ito, matapos sabihin ng kasamahan ng OCTA Research Group na si Dr. Guido David na ang NCR ay nasa ilalim ng moderate risk batay sa kanilang mga sukatan.
“Based on our metrics, this is our metrics and not necessarily the same as the one used by the DOH, Metro Manila has moved from low to moderate risk. That being said, again, moderate risk does not translate to an escalation of the alert level,” aniya sa isang panayam sa telebisyon.
Sa isang mensahe sa mga mamamahayag, sinabi ng DOH na para ma-classify ang isang lugar sa ilalim ng moderate risk, dapat itong magkaroon ng positive two-week growth rate (TWGR) at average daily attack rate (ADAR) na hindi bababa sa anim na average na kaso kada araw kada 100,000 populasyon.
Para naman sa healthcare utilization rate (HCUR), dapat ay mayroon ding moderate risk rate para mangyari ang pagtaas sa Alert Level 2.
“As of June 15, 2022 while NCR shows positive TWGR, its ADAR is still below 6 at less than 1 case per 100k population. NCR would require at least 818 cases daily for two weeks to reach an ADAR of 6 cases per 100k population,” ayon sa DOH.
Ang HCUR ng NCR ay nananatiling nasa mababang panganib at ang mga impeksyon ay inaasahan sa yugtong ito ng pandemya, dagdag ng ahensya.
“Most of them will be asymptomatic, mild, or moderate – thanks to vaccination, boosters, and health protocols. What is important is the number of severe and critical hospital admissions,” isinaad ng DOH. “So long as these numbers remain low, we will stay at the current alert level while carefully monitoring the situation”.
Sa isang post sa Facebook, sinabi ng miyembro ng DOH Technical Advisory Group na si Dr. Edsel Salvaña na ang ADAR ng rehiyon ay kasalukuyang nasa ilalim ng isa at habang positibo ang dalawang linggong rate ng paglago, ang hospital utilization ay mas mababa sa 50 porsiyento.
“Please do not make people panic. We have metrics that we follow to make these pronouncements and it is not helping when you make stuff up,” aniya.
Binigyang-diin ni Salvaña na tanging ang DOH at ang Inter Agency Task Force for Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases lamang ang maaaring gumawa ng mga deklarasyon sa mga klasipikasyon ng Covid-19 at mananagot para sa mga ito.
“NCR is LOW risk. Listen only to properly accountable authorities,” dagdag niya.
Samantala, hinimok ng DOH ang media at ang pangkalahatang publiko na kumuha lamang ng impormasyon mula sa mga opisyal na mapagkukunan.
“All concerned are also advised to consult with the DOH first before making any forecasts and issuing statements that may cause unnecessary panic and harm among the public,” ayon sa ahensya.
