MANILA – Sinabi ni National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19 chief implementer, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., na kailangang i-activate ang manpower resources sa gitna ng banta ng lubhang naililipat na Omicron variant ng Covid-19 sa bansa.
Sa pagsasalita sa prerecorded Talk to the People ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na ipinalabas noong Miyerkules, sinabi ni Galvez na dapat magtatag ang gobyerno ng pangmatagalang strategic response laban sa umiiral na pandemya.
Ang gobyerno, aniya, ay dapat na panatilihin ang mas mataas na Covid-19 bed capacity sa mga ospital at sapat na manpower.
“With the increase of cases of Omicron, we need to activate our manpower resources with the DOH emergency hiring and the mobilization of medical students, and armed services, medical auxiliaries from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the PNP (Philippine National Police), the PCG (Philippine Coast Guard), and the Bureau of Fire,” wika ni Galvez.
Sinabi ni Galvez na ang NTF ay malapit na nakikipagtulungan sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) upang aktibong pakilusin ang mga military doctors at nurses upang dagdagan ang mga serbisyong pangkalusugan.
“And also, we need to review the prioritization of cluster or the centers of gravity in order to protect our economic, health, and social risk areas,” aniya.
Binigyang-diin ng vaccine czar ang malaking panganib sa ekonomiya sa pagtaas ng bilang ng mga kaso ng Covid-19.
“And it has been proven that prioritizing highly urbanized and densely populated areas, we need to prioritize in order to increase the coverage in certain areas and further protect the gains that we have earlier achieved,” idinagdag ni Galvez.
Inilista ni Galvez ang mga pangunahing punto at gawain ng pamahalaan upang maiwasan ang pagdami ng mga impeksyon sa Covid-19 pagkatapos ng kapaskuhan.
“We need to find and vaccinate the unvaccinated,” wika niya.
Binigyang-diin din ni Galvez ang pangangailangang magbigay ng karagdagang proteksyon sa humigit-kumulang 20 milyong indibidwal na ganap na nabakunahan sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng Covid-19 booster doses.
“We need also to expand our vaccination to five to 11 years old to further ensure the opening of classes and open restriction to minors,” idinagdag niya. “And lastly, we need to increase demand in order to efficiently manage our vaccines administration and prevent unnecessary wastage.”
Pinaalalahanan din ni Galvez ang mga LGU na kailangan nilang abutin ang hindi bababa sa 70 porsiyento hanggang 100 porsiyento ng kanilang saklaw sa pagbabakuna.
“We need to revisit the realities that our people’s protection should be further expanded and enhanced through the administration of boosters,” aniya.
Sinabi ni Galvez na ang mga rehiyong umabot na sa 70 porsiyento ng kanilang kabuuang populasyon ay dapat pataasin ang kanilang booster vaccination.
Kabilang sa mga lugar na ito ang 17 lungsod at isang munisipalidad sa National Capital Region; lungsod ng Angeles, Mabalacat, Meycauayan, San Fernando, San Jose Del Monte, Bataan, at Tarlac sa Central Luzon; lungsod ng Antipolo, Batangas, Cabuyao, General Trias, Imus, Lipa, San Pablo, Sto. Tomas, Tagaytay, Tanauan, Trece Martires, at lalawigan ng Cavite sa Calabarzon; lungsod ng Baguio, Laoag Vigan, Dagupan, Urdaneta, San Fernando, Tuguegarao, Santiago, Cauayan, at Legazpi sa Luzon; lungsod ng Roxas, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Minglanilla Tabiliran, Dumaguete, Ormoc, at Tacloban sa Visayas; gayundin ang mga lungsod ng Zamboanga, Dipolog, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Kidapawan, Butuan, Ozamiz at munisipalidad ng Ipil sa Mindanao.
