MANILA – Nagpahayag si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng pag-asa nitong Lunes, na ang mga puwersa ng gobyerno ay magagawang tanggalin ang lahat ng mga communist terrorist group (CTG) sa pagtatapos ng kanyang termino sa susunod na taon.

Pinuri ni Duterte ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa kanilang pagsisikap na puksain ang natitirang mga gerilya ng Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).

“I would like to thank again the Armed Forces of the Philippines for continuing the dismantling of so many guerilla fronts throughout the country. I’d like to say that it is a job well done and if this continues, the CPP-NPA-NDF will see the truce of death,” sinabi niya sa kanyang pre-recorded Talk to the People.

“We might be able to hopefully dismantle all by the time I get out of the office,” dagdag niya.

Iniulat ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ang counter-insurgency ng gobyerno tulad ng pagtanggal sa Kilusang Larangan Gerilya (KLG)—Sierra Madre of the New People’s Army (NPA) sa San Fernando Pampanga.

“The AFP continues to work of dismantling of other CTGs such the Tarlac-Zambales KLG and the south part committees,” saad ni Nograles.

Inilahad niya na ang maraming kilusan ng gobyerno sa ilalim ng flagship framework ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) ay nagpapanatili ng kapayapaan, seguridad, katatagan, at kaunlaran sa Rehiyon 3 (Gitnang Luzon).

Ipinatutupad ng gobyerno ang Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) para sa mga rebel returnee kabilang ang pagbibigay ng tulong pinansyal, firearm remuneration, at livelihood skills training.

Ang CPP-NPA-NDF ay kinilala bilang isang teroristang samahan ng Estados Unidos, European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, at Pilipinas.
