MANILA – Ang PLDT at ang wireless subsidiary nito na Smart Communication ay nagpalawak ng libreng koneksyon ng Wi-Fi sa ilang vaccination site sa Metro Manila, Rizal, at Palawan.
Ang mga prepaid Home Wi-Fi at Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi unit na may load ay naipamahagi sa mga lugar ng pagbabakuna sa mga lungsod ng Las Piñas, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Quezon City, at Taguig sa Metro Manila; Antipolo at Taytay sa Rizal; at Puerto Princesa sa Palawan, ayon sa pahayag na inilabas noong Huwebes ng PLDT-Smart.
“These include the Tumana Health Center and Kapitbahayan Health Center in Navotas; SM Masinag, SM Cherry Antipolo, Robinsons Antipolo, iMall – Antipolo and Fatima Covered Court in Antipolo; SM Southmall and SM Las Piñas in Las Piñas; Andres Bonifacio Elementary School, Aurora A Quezon Elementary School and Harbour Square in Manila; Marikina Sports Center and Marikina Elementary School in Marikina; Ospital ng Muntinlupa in Muntinlupa; Puerto Princesa Coliseum in Palawan; Batasan Hills National High School in Quezon City; SM Taytay in Rizal; and vaccination sites in Magtanggol and Sta Rosario in Taguig,” saad ng PLDT-Smart.
Ang programa ay bahagi ng suporta ng kumpanya para sa buong bansa sa pagtugon ng Covid-19, tulad ng sinabi nila.
Bilang karagdagan sa pagbibigay ng libreng Wi-Fi sa mga site ng pagbabakuna, nag-install din ito ng fiber-powered Wi-Fi connection sa kuwarentenas na pinapatakbo ng gobyerno, swabbing, isolation, vaccination, at iba pang mga pasilidad ng Covid-19.
“Since last year, PLDT and Smart have been providing connectivity and communications support to frontline agencies and their personnel such as the departments of health, transportation, public works, the armed forces and police, local governments, and non-governmental organizations in different parts of the country, to help front-liners and patients stay connected despite the challenges of the pandemic,” ayon sa PLDT-Smart.
Ang senior vice president at head ng Consumer Wireless Business ng Smart na si Jane Basas, ay nagsabi na ang kumpanya ay nasa “natatanging posisyon” upang makatulong sa programa ng pagbabakuna sa bansa.
