Binalaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga lokal na opisyal laban sa pagdaraos ng mga piyesta, kung saan posible umanong managot ang mga ito sakaling labagin ang mga umiiral na health protocols sa kani-kanilang lokalidad.

“I will not allow the violations of the guidelines given by the task force and I will hold the local governments, down to the last barangay level and therefore it could only be the barangays captains, I will hold you responsible for any violation,” ani Duterte sa kanyang public address noong Huwebes.

Ayon sa Pangulo, ang pagpapatupad ng minimum health protocols, tulad ng pagbabawal ng mass gatherings, ay batas na dapat ipatupad nang strikto.

Nagpahayag si Duterte ng parehong babala noong Abril 29.

Aniya, “I will direct the secretary of the DILG to hold the mayors responsible for this kind of events happening in their places.”
