Naglabas noong Lunes ang national government ng listahan ng mga essential economic workers na bibigyan ng prayoridad sa Covid-19 vaccination program.
Ibinahagi ni National Economic and Development Authority Undersecretary Rose Edillion ang mga subgroups sa ilalim ng A4 priority group. Sila ang susunod na babakunahan kontra Covid-19 kapag natapos na ang mga senior citizens at mga mayroong co-morbidities.
Subalit, hindi kasama rito ang mga manggagawa sa media – isang pagbabago mula sa mga naunang listahan ng priority sectors.
Ang mga subgroups sa ilalim ng A4 priority ay ang mga sumusunod:
A4.1 – commuter transport (land, air, and sea), kabilang ang logistics
A4.2 – frontline government workers sa justice, security, transport, at social protection sectors
A4.3 – Public at private wet and dry market vendors; frontline workers sa groceries at supermarkets; delivery services
A4.4 – Workers sa manufacturing para sa food, beverage, medical, at pharmaceutical products
A4.5 – Frontliner workers sa food retail, kasama ang food service delivery
A4.6 – Frontline government workers
A4.7 – Frontline workers sa financial services
A4.8 – Teaching personnel sa medical at allied medical courses of higher education institutions, kasama ang personnel ng laboratories
A4.9 – Frontliner workers sa hotels at accommodation
A4.10 – Priests, pastors, religious leaders
A4.11 – Construction workers sa government infrastructure projects
A4.12 Security guards at personnel na naka-assign sa establishments, offices, agencies, at organizations
A4.13 – OFWs not classified above and scheduled for deployment within 2 months
Binabalak ng NEDA na ilunsad ang A4 vaccination sa Mayo kung saan ito ang “best case scenario,” subalit posible itong maantala hanggang Agosto dahil sa kakulangan sa suplay ng bakuna, diin ni Edillion.
Ang media personnel, kahit ang mga nasa field, ay hindi kabilang sa susunod na batch ng babakunahan.
Ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, ang mga taga-media ay babakunahan kasunod ng A5 o indigent population at iba pang sektor.
Aniya, “Media would be part of B classification already, together with the other workers in our society.”
Sinabi naman ni Edillion na puwedeng umapela ang media sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
“Ang tinignan namin those who cannot have their own bubble, those who cannot work from home, ganoong tipo ng sectors… Ang final say nito ay ang IATF,” sabi nito.
