Nagbabalak ang pamahalaan na paluwagin ang quarantine protocols sa Metro Manila at mga karatig lalawigan sa susunod na linggo kung magiging epektibo ang pagpapatupad ng Covid-19 response, paglilinaw ng Malacañang noong Lunes.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, posibleng ipatupad ang isang-linggong modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) matapos ang extension ng ECQ sa NCR Plus – na kinabibilangan ng Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, at Rizal.
“We’re following a model,” ani Roque sa The Source ng CNN Philippines.
Dagdag pa nito, “Prior to the ECQ that we imposed, we had a one-week travel bubble in NCR Plus. And we’re looking at another week of MECQ after this week, assuming our prevention, detection, isolation strategies indeed work.”
Ayon sa opisyal, ang pagpapatupad ng huling quarantine protocols ay posibleng makapagpababa ng Covid-19 cases sa bansa sa 4,000 kada araw.
“If we impose another week of ECQ, in addition to the bubble and the one week of ECQ that we’ve had already, and if we were to impose another week of MECQ, we are looking at around 4,000 cases a day, which is a tremendous reduction from the 12,000 that we have right now,” paliwanag nito.
Idiniin ni Roque na ang pagtransisyon sa general community quarantine, sa halip na MECQ, ay posibleng magresulta sa “substantially more” Covid-19 cases kada araw.
Binanggit din ni Roque na pinalawig ng pamahalaan ang ECQ dahil ang Covid-19 attack rates at healthcare capacity sa areas of concern ay nananatiling nasa “criticial levels.”
