Mga pasyente, pinagbabayad ng P1000 kada oras sa hospital tents

Inihayag ng Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) na hindi saklaw ng kanilang packages ang pananatili ng mga pasyente sa hospital tents, kung saan sinisingil umano nang P1000 kada oras ang mga ito.

Sinabi ni Bayan Muna Rep. Ferdinand Gaite sa House Committee on Health noong Martes na isang katrabaho umano ang nanatili sa hospital tent habang hinihintay na ma-admit sa busy na intensive care unit. Pumalo umano sa P140,000 ang bayarin para sa overnight stay.

“Nahihirapan na nga ‘yung mga pasyente then we aggravate the situation by imposing such policies that would negate the benefit they would have gotten from Philhealth,” sabi ng mambabatas.

Ayon naman kay PhilHealth Acting Senior Vice President Neri Santiago, kasalukuyang hindi kasama sa protocol nito tungkol sa packages ang paggamit ng hospital tents, subalit idiniing dapat itong isama.

“Siguro irevisit na lang namin kasi sa ngayon, hindi siya part noong protocol na kasama sa package,” ani Santiago.

“Supposed to be ‘yung temporary treatment sa temporary facility na part ng hospital should be part of the package,” dagdag pa nito.

Hiningi naman ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ang pangalan ng ospital at inilarawan ang sinisingil na P1000 kada oras bilang “highway robbery.” Subalit, hindi sinabi ni Gaite ang pangalan ng ospital sa ginanap na hearing.

“Meron tayong benefit package ng PhilHealth and we have already upgraded these benefit packages to be inclusive of different levels of accommodation,” sabi ni Duque, na dumalo sa pagdinig.

“We will have that revisited,” dagdag pa ng kalihim.

Samantala, inilarawan naman ni Senador Joel Villanueva ang P1,000 kada oras na singil bilang “ridiculous” sapagkat dapat aniya kasama ito sa gastusin ng PhilHealth.

Base sa Section 6 ng Universal Health Care Act, sinabi ni Villanueva na dapat ituring ang sitwasyon bilang bahagi ng “emergency health services” dahil napilitang i-admit ang mga pasyente sa hopsital tent dahil “umaapaw” na ang emergency rooms.

“So, it makes no sense to exclude them from coverage from the mere fact that that the emergency room is already overcrowded,” pahayag ng senador sa isang tweet noong Huwebes.
