Sinabi ng Department of Education (DepEd) noong Lunes na patuloy ito sa paghahanda para sa posibleng pagbabalik ng limitadong face-to-face classes sa mga lugar na low-risk para sa Covid-19 transmission.
“The Department of Education will continue to do the preparations even as we await the final approval of the holding of limited face-to-face [classes],” wika ni Education Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio.
“We will implement the decision but we will continue to make preparations so that the moment we are allowed to do this, we will be able to do it immediately,” dagdag pa ng opisyal.
Sa isang press briefing noong Linggo, muling tinutulan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagbabalik ng face-to-face classes bagama’t umarangkada na ang vaccination program sa bansa laban sa Covid-19.
Ayon sa Pangulo, maaaring malagay sa “alanganin” ang buhay ng mga bata kung isasakatuparan ito.
Iginiit naman ni San Antonio na ang face-to-face classes ay isang shared responsibility sa pagitan ng DepEd, local officials at iba pang stakeholders.
Aniya, “We also reminded our field officials, the principals and superintendents to collaborate closely with local government units because we feel that any attempt to do this has to be an effort not only of schools but it should be a collaboration.”
Kung matutuloy, sinabi ng opisyal na binabalak nilang ilagay ang hindi bababa sa 15 estudyante sa isang silid-aralan. Ipatutupad din ang mandatoryong pagsusuot ng face masks at pagsunod sa physical distancing.
