Palasyo, tinanggihan ang mungkahi ng CPP na alisin sa militar ang tungkulin sa vaccine distribution

Pananatilihin ng militar ang kanilang assignment na tumulong sa pamamahagi ng mga bakuna kontra Covid-19, giit ng Malacañang noong Martes, habang tinanggihan nito ang iminungkahi ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). 

Unang sinabi ng CPP na magtatatag ito ng humanitarian corridor para sa “safe and unimpeded passage” ng mga bakuna sa guerrilla bases at zones. Subalit, hinikayat nito ang pamahalaan na ibigay ang responsibilidad sa pagbiyahe ng mga bakuna sa humanitarian organizations sa halip na sa militar.

“Over the past year, the AFP has been carrying out combat and psywar operations behind the veil of implementing COVID-19 restrictions,” ani CPP information officer Marco Valbuena. 

“Using AFP to transport the vaccines will not encourage people to be vaccinated especially in many areas in the countryside where people are traumatized by military garrisoning of their communities and helicopter gunships firing missiles,” dagdag pa nito.

Gayunpaman, susundin pa rin umano ng gobyerno ang itinakdang distribution plan para sa mga bakuna, diin ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Aniya, “I guess they have freedom of expression, but they are tagged as a terrorist group. They can express their opinion, but hanggang dun na lang iyon.”
