Paiimbestigahan si Public Works Secretary Mark Villar kung mapapatunayan ito ng ebidensiya alinsunod sa kautusan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na paimbestigahan ang buong pamahalaan para sa kurapsyon, giit ng Department of Justice noong Oktubre 29.

Unang sinabi ni Duterte na “wala siyang hinanaing” kay Villar, na isa aniya sa mga “hardworking” na opisyal na may “maraming” accomplishments.

Gayunpaman, ipinahahayag lamang aniya ni Duterte ang kanyang “pagtitiwala at kumpiyansa” kay Villar, ayon naman sa asawa ng kalihim na si DOJ Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay-Villar.

“He also said in his memo all government officials and employees are included in the investigation which means no one is exempt,” giit ni Aglipay-Villar.

Nang tanungin naman kung sasailalim sa imbestigasyon si Villar, sinabi nitong: “Yes, because that’s what the President also said in his memo, that all government officials and employees are included and if evidence warrants a case to be filed against them we would do so.”

Ipinag-utos ng pangulo nitong nakaraan ang pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon tungkol sa katiwalian sa Department of Public Works and Highways, kung saan pinuna rin ito ng mga senador.

Kasama ito sa limang ahensya na tinukoy ng DOJ na bibigyan ng prayoridad sa imbestigasyon kontra katiwalian.

“It depends where there are allegations of corruption, if there are none we will focus on those where there are allegations of corruption,” wika ni Aglipay Villar nang tanungin kung kasama sa imbestigasyon ang Office of the President.
