Hinikayat ng Malacañang noong Oktubre 13 ang mga dalubhasa mula University of the Philippines na iwasan ang pag-broadcast ng kanilang mga suhestyon tungkol sa pandemic lockdowns at sa halip ay ipagbigay ito nang “pribado” sa mga awtoridad.
Ang OCTA Research team, na kinabibilangan ng mga eksperto mula University of the Philippines at University of Santo Tomas na nagbahagi ng regular projections tungkol sa coronavirus infections ng bansa, ay mayroon aniyang “1 o 2 epidemiologists” na hindi “kapareho ng bilang ng mga eksperto” sa inter-agency task force leading na nangunguna sa laban kontra Covid-19, ani Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Aniya, “I wish they would refrain from making these recommendations publicly. They can probably endorse or course their recommendations privately to the IATF, nang hindi naman po napapangunahan, highlighting the fact that classifications are normally announced by no less than the President himself.”
“If the IATF itself does not make public its recommendations to the President, sana the OCTA team— and this is really an appeal para hindi nagkakagulo — can also course their recommendations to the IATF privately,” dagdag pa ni Roque.
Sinabi nito ni Roque bilang pagtugon nang tanungin kung ano ang huling rekomendasyon ng OCTA group para sa pagsasailalim sa ilang bahagi ng Bauan, Batangas, Calbayog, Western Samar, at General Trias, Cavite sa mahigpit na lockdowns.
Maaaring magpasya ang mga provincial governors hinggil sa estado ng lockdown sa kani-kanilang mga lokalidad kasama ang regional IATFs, dagdag pa ni Roque.
